Sidewalks, including ADA ramps and the gutter in front of the ADA ramps, are the responsibility of the adjacent property owner. A wheelchair must be able to access the sidewalk. These areas must be free of snow.

Shade Tree Commission
The Shade Tree Commission ensures the trees lining the borough streets, which so greatly add to the beauty and charm of the borough, are protected and properly maintained.

The Borough has been designated as a Tree City USA community (link opens in a new window) for 43 years.
Trees planted in the verge of borough streets belong to the borough and cannot be removed or altered without the permission of the Shade Tree Commission. Trees growing along the borough alleyways belong to the property owners in whose yards they are growing.
