Yard waste pickup is resuming!
Place yard waste (leaves, weeds, branches, grass clippings, etc.) in the alley adjacent to your property for pickup by 7 am on Mondays. Properties without an adjacent alley should place yard waste on the street side.
Only three 32-gallon cans (not exceeding 50 lbs.) may be placed out for pickup in a week. Additional yard waste must be bundled or placed in biodegradable bags.
Yard waste must be put in cans, paper bags, or bundled so it can be easily lifted to shoulder height.
Remember, if you cannot easily lift the can, bag, or bundle to shoulder height, the worker cannot lift it to throw it into the dump truck.
If you have too many shrubs or branches to fit in cans, bundle them with rope or twine so they can be lifted easily.
Do not place pruning from vines, bushes, or trees in metal or plastic containers unless the materials are in pieces less than six inches in length.
Cut large or long branches to a size that is easy to collect.
Vine, bush, and tree pruning not placed in cans or bags must be cut and bundled separately in lengths of at least 12 inches and no more than 40 inches. Each bundle can not weigh more than 50 pounds.
Any can or bundle that is too heavy for the DPW employees to lift will not be collected.
Thanks for your cooperation!
